Why we think Jan Garber is a Louisburg Jewel:
Jan took a passion and created a community Jewel, from scratch, with his “Glory Days of Iron” event at Lewis-Young park. Yes, it is nostalgia for machinery, and it was a first rate event held right here in Louisburg on weekends at the end of May (29-31). He then started another event, the “Garden Tractor Show and Pull” in Paola, which was usually held at the end of April.
You may not have always recognized Jan, as he was several costumed characters during the winter holidays. In fact, we knew him best as “Jan the Elf.”
Thank you, Jan, for being part of our community. You are not forgotten.
