AT&T

Earlier this month, the Federal Communications Commission hit AT&T with a $100 million fine, accusing the company of throttling speeds for customers who thought they had unlimited data plans.

Comcast

In many cases, the FCC said, customers expressly told Comcast that they didn’t want the add-on options, but they were charged anyway. Complaints also describe how customers spent “significant time and energy to attempt to remove the unauthorized charges” and get refunds, the commission said.

Eight Comcast customers filed a class action suit against Comcast this week, alleging Comcast’s broadcast retransmission fees and regional sports fees constitute false advertising.

T-Mobile

The FCC said the carrier applied slower data speeds and throttled customer traffic once certain usage thresholds were hit without telling its customers.
