GoBrolly Internet Celebrates 10 Years in Business

Louisburg, Kan. — GoBrolly Internet, a subsidiary of Brolly Communications, Inc., opened their doors ten years ago and signed their first customer in April, 2014.

Jeff Axmann, President and CTO of the company, said that the company’s original mission statement was to bring reliable and fast Internet to Miami County, Kansas.

“Ten years ago, we couldn’t even use our local Internet providers to conduct proper online research,” Axmann said.

Since then, GoBrolly Internet has received fantastic acceptance and now services Miami, Cass, Bates, Linn, Franklin and Johnson counties. The Miami County area is exploding with new Internet providers who realized that rural communities needed better Internet service. Government money subsidized fiber and telephone companies to build underground infrastructures, and wireless and satellite providers moved to the area to reach people who couldn’t access fiber. Axmann said that GoBrolly is not surprised by the competition and welcomes it.

“The reason we have been successful is because our infrastructure, the way we built our network, is a hybrid of both fiber and wireless. We designed it because everything we do is to ensure that our customers have Internet service at any time, with the bandwidth they expect. Our philosophy is different than other companies,” he continued. “We are mindful and diligent for requirements for the Internet. The Internet is our only business and we are constantly working on it, making it better. We don’t take government money; we don’t sell our customer’s data . . . we just continue to provide unrivaled and unmatched services to our community.”

GoBrolly Internet considers the Internet a utility. It is a metered service, which, according to Jeff, allows them to provide what the customers need at any time, without throttling, traffic shaping or anything else to limit service during heavy-traffic times.

“When we began, the Internet was important. Now it is essential,” Axmann said.

When Covid struck in 2019, GoBrolly’s infrastructure allowed them to immediately provide more bandwidth (speed) and data while working internally to continually update their own equipment and routes to the Internet. Axmann and the founders knew that Covid had changed the Internet forever.

“It changed everything. People immediately started working from home, children were either home-schooled or took online classes, it created a different need for Internet service,” Axmann said, “The Internet will continue to change, and GoBrolly will be prepared for this future Internet. We have always prided ourselves as being the market leaders in Internet capabilities and functions. In fact, we just finished updating our plans with more speed and data to provide more value to our customers.”

GoBrolly Internet’s headquarters, located in Louisburg, Kansas, is Miami County owned and operated. Axmann agreed that is one of the biggest reasons for their success.

“We are local, we live in the communities we serve. We are your friends, your family, your neighbors,” Axmann said. “None of the other providers here are local and I believe that makes a big difference. Our customer service is the highest in the area. Just check out our Google reviews,” he said.

“Well, actually,” he smiled, “Just give us a call and you’ll find out for yourself.”
